Our Cause
The National Cat Protection Society (NatCat) is a non-profit, no-kill cat shelter. We welcome owner-relinquished cats and kittens to stay in our clean and comfortable living quarters until they find a proper home. Our state-of-the-art facilities with protected access to the "outdoors" in large enclosed patio areas let them enjoy themselves without compromising their safety.
NatCat has two cat shelters in Southern California: Newport Beach and Spring Valley. The trained staff and dedicated volunteers all share a tremendous love for cats and are selflessly dedicated to their well-being.
Read on to learn about the Society, see some great pictures of our cats and find out how you can become part of our organization, whether you live in Southern California or some other part of the world.

ASPCA Launches iTunes App Providing Toxic Plant Information
Pet Safe developed by the ASPCA and Treviso Media Group is an iTunes app you can download to conveniently access information on plants poisonous to our feline friends. Only $2.99 and compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, you are sure to find it quite useful while evaluating house, garden or yard plants. Specifically, users can easily access a searchable database of plants the ASPCA toxicology team has found harmful – from Adam-and-Eve to Yucca – details on each plant and its effects, information on what to do if ingestion occurs and one-touch dialing to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center.
Visit the iTunes Store to download Pet Safe.
